What if I told you, that the best resort in the Dominican Republic WASN’T in Punta Cana?
What if I told you, you could go to a resort, and NOT feel like one of a thousand tourists at the beach that day?
What if I told you that the queen herself, Beyonce, has been to this resort?
If it’s a nice enough place for Pitbull, Jennifer Lopez, Alex Rodriguez, Marc Anthony, David Ortiz, and dozens of other baseball players, it’s probably pretty nice, right?
Casa de Campo is 7,000 acres of finely-manicured landscape on the coast of the Caribbean Sea, and it’s nice enough for Pitbull, Jennifer Lopez, Alex Rodriguez, and Marc Anthony to vacation
Here’s why:
It’s NOT crowded and touristy
Even during the busiest times of year, Casa de Campo feels like a private resort. The beach is rarely crowded, there’s always a chair at the pool, and you can walk to the end of the beach at Playa Minitas and feel like you have YOUR OWN island.
It doesn’t feel like a resort
Casa de Campo spans more than 7,000 acres and is comprised mostly of vacation homes. There’s also separate areas that make it seem like its own little city. The Marina area has high-end shopping (be ready for sticker shock! ha. Although there are some good sales), groceries, a movie theater, and several fantastic open-air restaurants.
Further down from the Marina is Altos de Chavon. On first glance, it looks like an authentic Italian village, with cobblestone streets and stone buildings with orange rooftops, but it was actually built by a movie-set designer to look like one! But the views are 100% real. It overlooks the river and it’s absolutely beautiful.
*My Favorites at the Marina:
Pitbull’s Dominican restaurant, 305 has excellent tostones, skirt steaks, and fun cocktails, like the Caribbean Mule.
Pubbelly Sushi had you guessed it, good sushi, and it’s a good spot for a going-out vibe. They play popular rap and pop music. Side note: Former NBA player Ray Allen sat behind us a couple times when we were there!
*My Favorites at Altos de Chavon:
Fresh Fresh! This is probably the only cheap spot on the resort ( like you can get a smoothie, dinner, and a Nutella crepe for desert for under $10!) but don’t let the prices fool you, it is delicious! And you can eat healthy if you want to. The Mexican bowl at Fresh Fresh is like a better version of a Chipotle Bowl! They also make a coffee frappe that’s pretty good!
*My Favorites at the Hotel Bar / Beach Club
The Seafood Paella for dinner is fantastic, and the chicken fingers and fries are surprisingly good if you get homesick.
Oh, and it also has one of the world’s Top 100 Golf Courses. Teeth of the Dog is linked along the ocean with fantastic views of the Caribbean Sea.

LOVED all of your pictures from your stay! Looked up the pricing at the resort because I thought man, what a great place to honeymoon…PYSCH! hahaha Will have to keep looking for places to honeymoon.
